Responding to the owners desire to retain the old
family barn, SGS creatively integrated the renovated
barn into the new structure. The barn houses
recreational and social gathering areas, dining
rooms and kitchen facilities.
To promote interaction among the residents, well
appointed lounge areas are located throughout
the facility.
Positioning the building on the extremely steep
slope of the site presented challenges, which
were solved by designing a three-story structure
with the main entrance at the second level. The
solution also included extensive use of beautiful
masonry interlocking block retaining walls.
